The St Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Scott Shay (age 25). At approximately 4:00am, deputies responded to Gas Mart Convenience Store (1035 Belleville Road in Caseyville). There they located store clerk Scott Shay deceased behind the cash register counter. He had been shot and killed.
