The Fairview Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Charles Woodcock Jr (age 21). At approximately 4:49am, police officers responded to the Fairview Heights Short Stop (10220 Lincoln Trail) for a report of a body found. There they located employee Charles Woodcock Jr at the rear of the store. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, Terrance Towns (age 19) and Reyondos Taylor (age 18) were both charged with 1st Degree Murder.
