The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Ozzie Canada (age 28). At approximately 12:29am, deputies responded to a residence in the 1100 block of North 71st Street, East St. Louis for a report of a shooting. There they located Ozzie Canada inside the residence. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.
