The Pine Lawn Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Lawrence Cooley (age 30) and Rufus Cooley (age 33). At approximately 3:16am, police officers responded to a residence in the 4300 block of Beachwood Avenue for a report of persons shot. There they located Lawrence Cooley and his brother, Rufus Cooley, inside the residence. They had both been shot and were pronounced dead on scene.
