The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of a 51 year-old man. At approximately 6:45am, deputies responded to a residence in the 2500 block of East B Street (Belleville) for a report of mobile home fire. There firefighters located the body of the man inside the burning residence. An autopsy showed the man died from smoke inhalation.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined the man had committed suicide.
