The St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of an unidentified white female. At approximately 12:56pm, deputies responded to the area of Duke Road and Terry Road (near Augusta, MO) for a report of a body inside a foot-locker type trunk. When deputies opened the trunk, they found the decapitated and mutilated torso of a white female. The hands had been cut off and the legs had been cut off at the knees. They were unable to identify the victim and she was listed as a Jane Doe.
On 03/23/1987, Ralph Feltrop Jr filed a missing person report on his live-in girlfriend, Barbara Roam (age 27), to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators were able to quickly identify the Jane Doe as Barabra Roam. It was determined her head, hands, and lower legs were thrown into a pond.
On 03/24/1987, Ralph Feltrop Jr (age 32) was charged with Murder 1st Degree in Barbara’s death and later sentenced to death. He was executed on 08/06/1997.
