The Crestwood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Harold Smith (age 67). At approximately 2:44pm, police officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Ponderosa for a report of a sick person on the ground. There they located Harold Smith outside underneath the carport. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.

As a result of this investigation, Gregory Kelley (age 18) was charged with Captial Murder.
