The Wood River Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of George Pauley (age 39). At approximately 2:30pm, police officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of South 13th Street for a report of a dead body. There they located George Pauley inside the residence. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.
