The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Denise Dietrich (age 11). At approximately 10:08pm, deputies responded to a wooded area north of Hwy 30, east of Brennan Road, and west of Al Del Drive (near Murphy, MO) regarding a missing child. Denise Dietrich had been reported missing at 6:15pm. As deputies searched the field, they found Denise’s body in the field. She died as the result of a homicide.
