The Cahokia Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Carla Mallery (age 20). At approximately 3:30pm, police officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Upper Cahokia Road for a well-being check after Carla Mallery did not show up for work. There they located Carla inside the residence. She had been stabbed numerous times and was pronounced dead on scene.
