The Maplewood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Robert Powell (age 33). At approximately 8:44pm, police officers responded to the 2400 block of Bredell Avenue for a report of shots fired with a person possibly shot. There they located Robert Powell lying outside on the ground where he had been shot. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
