The Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Martha Bruns (age 38). At approximately 2:38am, police officers responded to St. Joseph’s Hospital (300 1st Capital Drive, St. Charles, MO) for a report of a woman that had been stabbed and brought into the hospital. When officers arrived, they found Martha Bruns in the hospital. She had been stabbed and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The investigation revealed Martha had been stabbed in front of Engelhardt’s Lounge, located inside the Hathaway Shopping Center (9307 Duenke Drive, Bellefontaine Neighbors, MO). She was then driven by car to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
As a result of this investigation, Martha’s boyfriend, Jack Dorlaque (age 32), was charged with Murder 2nd Degree. His bond was set at $20,000.
