The Sunset Hills Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Melissa Anderson (age 64). At approximately 4:54pm, officers responded to 11000 block of Sunlind Drive for a call to check the well-being. Upon arrival, officers found Melissa in the basement of the residence with significant injuries to her head and upper torso.
As a result of this investigation, Joseph Marino (age 30), the ex-boyfriend of Melissa, was charged with Murder 1st Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
