The Overland Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Hossein Rastegar. At approximately 7:01pm, police officers were sent to a residence in the 10000 block of Midland Boulevard for a well-being check. When officers arrived on scene, they found Hossein Rastegar (age 65) deceased inside his residence. His hands and feet were bound behind his back. A rope was around his neck and he had visible injuries to his head.
As a result of this investigation, David Smith (age 47) was charged with Murder 2nd Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, and Burglary 1st Degree in Hossein’s death. David’s bond was set at $1,000,000.
