The Sauget Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Johnathan Brown. At approximately 6:44am, officers responded to the 200 block of Monsanto Drive for a report of a body lying along the side of the road near the Oz Nightclub (300 Monsanto Drive). When officers arrived on scene, they located Johnathan Brown (age 28) lying on the ground. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.

As a result of this investigation, Harold Brown (age 31) was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. His bond was set at $250,000.
