The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating an attempted homicide. At approximately 11:06am, deputies responded to a residence in the 9000 block of Concordia Church Road near Belleville for a well-being check. There deputies located a 35 year-old man who had been severely beaten. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The victim survived his injuries.
