The Ferguson Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Bhritnay Taylor and Adrain Burns. At approximately 11:47am, officers responded to the 1800 Block of Bahama Court for a report of shots fired. There officers located Bhritnay Taylor (age 31) and her uncle, Adrian Burns (age 36). They had both been shot inside a vehicle. Bhritnay was pronounced dead on scene. Adrian was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
As a result of this investigation, Bhritnay‘s boyfriend, Lavelle Hayes (age 25), was charged with 2 counts of Murder 1st Degree and 2 counts of Armed Criminal Action. His bond was set at $5,000,000.
