Suspects: Fred Wonsley Williams Jr and Dionta O Moore

The Granite City Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Delas Carter. At approximately 11:23am, officers responded to Cheapies Tires (1525 Madison Avenue) for a report of a person who had been shot. There officers located employee Delas Carter (age 30) who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

As a result of this investigation, Fred Williams Jr (age 31) was charged with 1st Degree Murder and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. His bond was set at $3,000,000.

Dionta Moore (age 31) was also a suspect in this case. However, when police attempted to arrest him, he committed suicide.
