The Pagedale Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Samson Cooper Jr. At approximately 11:24am, officers responded to the area of the 6500 block of Whitney Avenue for a report of a shooting. There they located Samson Cooper Jr (age 20) suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
As a result of this investigation, Deyontez Huntley (age 19) was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action in Samson’s death. His bond was set at $200,000.
