The Olivette Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Kristen Whitted. At approximately 3:00pm, officers responded to southbound I-170 at Olive Blvd for a report of shots fired. They learned two vehicles had been travelling southbound on the interstate firing gun shots. Both vehicles had departed the area prior to police officers arriving. Officers located Kristen Whitted (age 46) inside her vehicle where she had been shot after being caught in the crossfire. She was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
As a result of this investigation, Calvin Pittman (age 30) was charged with Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution. His bond was set at $500,000.
