The Granite City Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Sean Williams. On 06-04-2020 at around 10:33pm, police officers responded to the 2500 block of Madison Avenue for a report of shots fired. There they located Sean Williams (age 18) who had been shot multiple times. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
As a result of this investigation, Deandre Richardson (age 17) and Nicholas Rickman II (age 16) were each charged as adults with 1st Degree Murder and Armed Robbery. They each had bond set at $1,000,000.
