The Hazelwood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Marvin Davis (age 20). Around 11:15am, police were notified of a shooting on Interstate 270. It was discovered Marvin Davis was driving a four-door Nissan sedan on westbound I-270, between North Lindbergh Boulevard and Interstate 170. The sedan was struck by at least 10 rounds fired from two different weapons. The sedan then collided with a tractor-trailer. A black SUV with tinted windows was seen leaving the scene.
As a result of this investigation, Courtland Kent (age 19) and Darrius Jones (age 17) were each charged with Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Their bond was set at $750,000 each.
