The Cahokia Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of WWII veteran Howard Sutton (age 89). On 10-18-2017 at approximately 1:18am, a 911 call was placed regarding a house fire in the 1100 block of St. Marcella Drive, Cahokia. Once the house fire was extinguished, Howard’s body was located inside the residence. Howard’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
