The Cahokia Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad investigating the death of Diondre Shanklin (age 24). At approximately 11:14pm, police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 40 block of St. Ambrose Drive. Upon arrival, Diondre was located deceased on the ground. As a result of the investigation, Christopher Nettles (age 23) was charged with First Degree Murder. His bond was set at $750,000.00.
