The Sauget Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Oscar Carbajal. At around 5:15am, police officers responded to a convenience store on Route 3. There they found Oscar Carbajal (age 26) who had been shot in the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
After the investigation into this case, Lamarc Garrett (age 29) was charged with 1st Degree Murder. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
