The Hazelwood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Brian Valley. Around 1:40am, police officers responded to the southbound lanes of I-170, between I-270 and Airport Road, for a report of a shooting.  Officers found a black Infinity SUV on the right shoulder of the road with several bullet holes in the driver’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle’s driver, Brian Valley (age 32) had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene. A male passenger (age 31) was in the backseat and was shot in the arm and back. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A third person in the vehicle was uninjured. Investigation showed 7-10 gunshots had been fired at the SUV.
