The Swansea Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Carmen Boyd. At approximately 10:24am, police officers responded to the 200 block of Marcella when a landlord called stating he found his tenant deceased. When officers arrived on scene, they located the body of Carmen Boyd (age 50) inside her apartment. She had been stabbed in the face and neck. She was pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, Kristofer McDavid (age 37) was charged with 1st Degree Murder. His bond was set at $5,000,000.
