Suspect: Catherine Marie Murch
The Glendale Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Mary Claire Murch, Mitchell Murch III, and Catherine Murch. At approximately 10:56am, police received a 9-1-1 call regarding a shooting that had occurred inside the residence. When police arrived on scene, they located Mary Claire Murch (age 8), her brother, Mitchell Murch III (age 10) and their mother, Catherine Murch (age 42) inside the residence where they had been shot. Catherine was pronounced dead at the scene. Mitchell III and Mary Claire were transported to a local hospital where they both died.
As a result of this investigation, it was determined Catherine Murch shot and killed both children. She then shot and killed herself.
