The Swansea Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of a 42 year-old man. At approximately 10:09am, police officers responded to a storage center in the 1400 block of North Illinois Street for a report of a foul odor coming from one of the storage units. There officers located a deceased man hanging inside the storage unit. The man had been reported missing to the Belleville Police Department on 03/04/2011. After an investigation into the man’s death, it was determined he had committed suicide.
