The Madison Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Jamie Garcia. At approximately 8:30am, deputies responded to Water Works Road, located between Interstate 270 and West Chain of Rocks Road on Chouteau Island for a report of a body. There they located Jamie Garcia (age 27) dead from multiple stab wounds. His body had been found by deer hunters. It was determined Garcia had initially been stabbed in St. Louis, MO. He was then put in a truck and driven to Illinois where he continued to be stabbed along the way.
As a result of this investigation, Eustaquio Jimenez (age 40) and Jamie Sierra (age 45) were charged with six counts of 1st Degree Murder and one count each of Robbery, Aggravated Unlawful Restraint, Concealment of a Homicidal Death and Mob Action. Their bond was set at $500,000 each.
