The Madison County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Christopher Olson. At approximately 5:46am, deputies responded to a cornfield on St. James Road near Holiday Shores for a report of a man down. There they located Christopher Olson (age 35) whose body had been seen by a passing motorist. The investigation revealed Christopher had been shot and had blunt force trauma to his head.
As a result of this investigation, Armondo Valdespino (age 27) and Joseph Gasperoni (age 30) were charged with 1st Degree Murder and Obstruct Justice/Destroy Evidence. Their bond was set at $2,000,000 each.
