Victim: Seriece Johnson

Suspect: Donald Eugene Younge Jr

The East St. Louis Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Seriece Johnson. Investigators were searching a field after finding the body of Yvette House (see Major Case Squad Report #326) earlier in the day. During that search, they located the body of Seriece Johnson (age 33) inside a trash bag that had been left near a railroad bridge called “The Black Bridge”.

In May 2000, the bodies of two more women (Ramona Sidney, age 31, and Tracy Williams, age 38) were found in the same area in trash bags. In July 2000, the body of another woman was found less than 4 blocks away. The Major Case Squad was not requested in the investigation of the women found in May 2000 and July 2000.

Two years later in 2002, Donald Younge (age 33 at the time of Seriece Johnson’s murder) was indicted by Grand Jury in the murders of Seriece Johnson and the two women, Ramona Sidney and Tracy Williams, whose bodies were found in May 2000. Donald’s bond was set at $5,000,000.

Donald also faced rape and murder charges in Utah.
