The Warren County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of a 48 year-old man. At approximately 12:19pm, deputies responded to an area on Hwy 47 that is one mile east of Hwy 94 near Marthasville, MO for a report of a truck fire. The body of the 48 year-old man was found inside the bed of the truck. He had been shot and burned. He was identified through dental records.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined the man had committed suicide by setting his truck on fire and then shooting himself while his truck was burning. After he shot himself, the truck continued to burn causing the burns to his body.
