The East St. Louis Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Richard Kimble, Datril Williams and the shooting of another man. At approximately 3:02am, police officers responded to the Oasis Night Club (214 Collinsville Avenue) for a report of shots fired with three subjects down. When police arrived, they located Richard Kimble (age 22), Datril Williams (age 21), and a 22 year-old man in the parking lot. They had all been shot. Richard and Datril were transported to the hospital where they died from multiple gunshot wounds. The 22 year-old man was transported to the hospital where he survived his gunshot injury.
