The St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Leslie O'Neal. At approximately 4:48pm, deputies responded to Busch Wildlife Area, Lake #31 on Hwy D. near Defiance, MO for a report of a body found in the lake. When deputies arrived, they located Leslie O'Neal (age 29) inside the water. It was later determined she had died from strangulation.
As a result of this investigation, Leslie’s boyfriend, Homer Johnson (age 33), was charged with Murder 1st Degree. He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
