The Brentwood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of John Koprowski. At approximately 6:12am, police officers responded to the Y.M.C.A. (1900 Urban Drive) for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. There they located John Koprowski (age 51) lying on the ground near the parking lot. He had been shot. He was transported to the hospital where he died. It was learned John was shot while he was being the victim of a carjacking. The suspects then stole John’s green 1994 Jeep Cherokee.
As a result of this investigation, Andre Morrow (age 23) and Mario Page (age 26) were both charged with Murder 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Stealing a Motor Vehicle, and Armed Criminal Action. Additionally, Andre was also charged with Robbery 2nd Degree. They were both arrested on no-bond warrants.
