The St. Charles City Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Tammy Dye (age 19). At approximately 6:33am, police officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of North 4th Street for a report of a possible rape and homicide. There they located Tammy Dye deceased inside her residence. She appeared to have been strangled.

As a result of this investigation, Tammy’s husband, William Dye (age 26), was charged with Murder 1st Degree. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
