The Hillsdale Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Cedric Gilliehaen (age 23). At approximately 11:32pm, police officers responded to Thirsty’s Tavern (6711 St. Louis Avenue) for a report of a man shot. There they located Cedric Gilliehaen in the driver’s seat of a 1976 Buick. He had been shot and was transported to the hospital where he died.

As a result of this investigation, Ashon Dumaka (age 18) was charged with Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Robbery 1st Degree.
