The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Tyler Winzen (age 3) and Stacy Price (age 15). At approximately 10:45am, deputies responded to an apartment on Stillbrook Estates Drive in unincorporated Jefferson County (near Fenton) for a report of two dead bodies. There they located Tyler Winzen and his babysitter, Stacy Price, dead inside the bathtub filled with water. Autopsies showed Tyler had been drowned. Stacy had been strangled and drowned.

In February 1989, Eugene Fleer (age 30 at the time of the murders) was charged with 2 counts of Murder 1st Degree. He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
