The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Gerald Rhymer (age 30). At approximately 6:15am, deputies responded to a field southeast of Milburn School Road and Old Collinsville Road for a report of a person lying in a field. There they located Gerald Rhymer lying injured in the field and appeared to have been beaten. He was transported to the hospital where he died from blunt force trauma to his body.
