The Maplewood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the rape a 13 year-old girl. At approximately 10:52pm, police officers responded to the alley behind the AABCO Welding Company (3122 Big Bend Boulevard) for a report of a rape. There they located a 13 year-old girl who had been raped.

As a result of this investigation, Richard Millaway (age 22) was charged with Statutory Rape.
