The Webster Groves Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the kidnapping and rape of a 19 year-old female. At approximately 1:40am, Crestwood police officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Briarton Drive in Crestwood for a report of a prowler. There they spoke to the caller who said she woke up to the sound of her 19 year-old daughter outside screaming for help and the sound of male voices outside. When the mother went outside to help her daughter, her daughter was gone.

As Crestwood police officers were investigating what happened to the 19 year-old daughter, they were contacted by Webster Groves police officers who stated the daughter had been located in Webster Groves. It was determined the 19 year-old female had just arrived home when she was kidnapped outside her Crestwood residence, forced into a vehicle, driven to Webster Groves, and raped by three males.
