The Cahokia Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Stephan Monigan (age 68). At approximately 7:25am, officers responded to the 2000 block of Maple Tree Lane for a report of a deceased male inside a residence. Police officers discovered Stephan deceased inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds.
As a result of this investigation, Vermonica Turley (age 56), a known acquaintance of Stephan’s, was charged with 1st Degree Murder in Stephan’s death.
