Suspects: Derek L. Miller and three juveniles
The Madison Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Gerald Wiley. At approximately 11:45am, officers responded to the area of 4th Street and Highland Avenue for a report of a traffic crash with an unresponsive male. There officers located Gerald Wiley (age 35) who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. A female passenger was also inside the vehicle who was injured as a result of the traffic crash. The female was transported to the hospital and treated for her injuries.
As a result of this investigation, the following criminal charges were issued in Gerald’s death:
Derek Miller (age 17 - charged as an adult) - First Degree Murder, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Armed Robbery. His bond was set at $2,000,000.
Three Juveniles - Each charged with First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery.
