The Madison County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Randy Gori.  Around 8:56pm, Deputies responded to a 911 call to the 4500 block of Mooney Creek Road in rural Edwardsville.  Upon their arrival, they located resident Randy Gori (age 47) deceased at the scene.  A black 2020 Rolls Royce SUV Cullinan was taken from the residence.  The vehicle was later located.

As a result of this investigation, Timothy Banowetz (age 28) was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Unlawful Restraint, Aggravated Offenses Related to Motor Vehicles.
