The O'Fallon Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Matthew Lockett. At approximately 6:52pm, officers were called to Castle Acres Mobile Home Park in the 1700 block of West Hwy 50 for a report of shots fired. Police found Matthew Lockett (age 26), who had been shot, in the middle of the street. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
As a resut of this investigation, James Garrett (age 26) was charged with one count of Armed Violence and one count of Unlawful Delivery of Cannabis in connection with Matthew’s death. His bond was set at $65,000.
