The St. Charles City Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Tiffany Sabourin. At approximately 6:51am, police officers responded to 1735 First Capital Drive (Commerce Bank) and met with Lindenwood College security for a report of a possible deceased person. A student walking to work had discovered the body of a partially nude girl. When police arrived, they located the body of Tiffany Sabourin (age 13) in a grassy area between the Lindenwood College water tower and the Commerce Bank drive-thru. She had been sexually assaulted, stabbed to death and decapitated. Her head was found in a portable bathroom on the campus soccer fields.

As a result of this investigation, Jason Shipman (age 21) was arrested on a no-bond warrant for the following charges in connection with Tiffany’s death:

  • Murder 1st Degree

  • Forcible Rape

  • Forcible Sodomy

  • Armed Criminal Action
