The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Christine Foster. At approximately 5:22pm, deputies responded to a drainage ditch along Old Dutch Hollow Road, just west of Illinois Route 161 near Belleville, for a report of a female lying in a ravine after a passerby found her body. When deputies arrived, they located Christine Foster (age 35). She had been stabbed and was pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, George Bricking Jr (age 35) was charged with 1st Degree Murder. His bond was set at $500,000.
