The Overland Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Phillip Hacker (age 40) and Ronald Cartwright (age 43). At approximately 1:23pm, police officers responded to the 2700 block of Wismer Avenue for a report of a murder/suicide. When officers arrived on scene, they located Phillip Hacker and Ronald Cartwright inside the residence. Officers quickly determined it was not a murder/suicide but was actually a double homicide. Philip and Ronald had both been shot and were pronounced dead at the scene.
