The Madison County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of TyKeisha Dixon (Henderson). At approximately 5:49am, deputies responded to the intersection of Illinois State Route 143 and Goshen Rd outside the City of Edwardsville for a report of a deceased female in the roadway. There deputies located TyKeisha Dixon (Henderson) (age 33). Based upon TyKeisha’s injuries, foul play was suspected.
During the investigation, it was discovered TyKeisha is from Roswell, GA. She and her husband, Luther (Luke) Henderson Jr (age 39) were reported missing from Atlanta, GA on 05-08-2021 by family members. There was no evidence that either individual had ties or associates in the Madison County, Illinois area. At the time TyKeisha’s body was found, Luther (Luke) Henderson was still missing. The Major Case Squad worked with Georgia law enforcement authorities on this investigation. As a result of the information developed from the Major Case Squad, Atlanta homicide investigators assumed the case.
Luther (Luke) Henderson was arrested two weeks later in Seattle, Washington for his wife’s death. Luther was charged in Fulton County, Georgia with the following charges related to TyKeisha’s death:
Murder
Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Felony
Cruelty to Children - Causes Excessive Physical or Mental Pain
